Maybe therapy feels like the last place you'd let your guard down. Or maybe you've been waiting your whole life for a space like this.
Either way, my job is to meet you exactly where you are — not where you think you're supposed to be. Life can feel like too much sometimes, and knowing where to even start can feel just as overwhelming as the problem itself. Together, we'll slow down and look honestly at what's keeping you stuck, without judgment, and without you having to perform "okay."
I don't believe therapy is one-size-fits-all, and I don't walk in with a script. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, and what stays consistent is this: I believe your present struggles almost always make more sense once we understand where they came from. We'll spend real time looking at how your past — your family, your earliest relationships — shows up in the way you cope, connect, and talk to yourself today.
The relationship between us matters more than any technique. In our first several sessions, we're not rushing anywhere, we're building trust. Getting to know each other. Making sure this feels like a room you can actually be honest in, not one more place you have to manage everyone's comfort but your own.
As we keep going, we'll start looking underneath the surface at the thoughts and feelings you've gotten very good at avoiding, because facing them head-on has always felt like too much. That avoidance made sense once. It probably even protected you. But it may be part of what's keeping you stuck now.
I'll help you build the capacity to sit with the feelings that used to feel unbearable, and gently challenge the stories you've told yourself to survive, so you can start writing new ones. Not by pushing you somewhere you're not ready for, but by walking through it with you, at your pace.
